HLFT’s Client Prevails Before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Employee Handbook Claims
On March 28, 2017, the Ninth Circuit affirmed summary judgment in favor of the Port of Seattle against a Port employee’s claim that the Port had breached certain promises contained in its employee handbook. The Ninth Circuit previously had affirmed summary judgment in the Port’s favor on the employee’s whistleblower retaliation claim under the False Claims Act. HLFT partners Tim Leyh and Shane Cramer represented the Port, with Mr. Cramer arguing the case before the Ninth Circuit.
