Harrigan Leyh Wins Unanimous Supreme Court Ruling
Harrigan Leyh obtained a unanimous ruling from the Washington State Supreme Court in Cedar River Water and Sewer District, et al. v. King County. The firm represented King County against approximately $250 million in claims brought by two local water and sewer districts. The local districts alleged that the County had misused ratepayer funds for projects and services unrelated to wastewater services. Tim Leyh, Randall Thomsen and Katherine Kennedy represented the County in a six week trial at which the County prevailed on all but one of the plaintiffs’ claims. On appeal, the Supreme Court affirmed the trial court rulings in favor of the County and reversed the only trial court ruling against the County.
